The Consumer Internet is a key focus area for Polaris. Some early successes in the first generation of Internet companies included Classifieds2000 (sold to Excite) and Exchange.com (sold to Amazon).
More recently, we have led investments in companies that are defining the emerging social web and digital media, including Automattic (the company behind WordPress), Quantcast, LOLApps, Thing Labs, JibJab, Modelinia, Athletes’ Performance, Hangout.net and Turbine Entertainment. We also have led investments in successful E-commerce players including Art.com, Legalzoom, Living Proof and Ice.com.
As with our other areas of Investment, Polaris actively invests both at seed and growth stages. For example, Polaris led seed rounds for Automattic and more recently seed-backed former Blogger and Google exec Jason Shellen. In addition, Polaris operates the Dog Patch Lab at Pier 38 in San Francisco to help early founders conceive and launch web startups.

Our mission is to have this for profit corporation open private clubs bought with the funds raised through our stocks. These private clubs are member only and can only be accessed by members that are stock owners and yearly members.
